WESTERN UNION MONEY TRANSFER SERVICES (WUMT)

I. INTRODUCTION

It is an inward money transfer service by which funds can be transferred to individuals in India. It is one of the fastest mode of transfer of funds through which one can receive money within 10 minutes of remittance from abroad. It is a unique funds transfer mechanism of world’s renown financial solutions company, Western Union Financial Services International, N.J., U.S.A.. Key to popularity of the product are its distinguishing features like promptness of service, reliability, convenience and safety.

 

II. FEATURES

  • It enables the sender of money to transfer funds up to USD 2,500 to individuals

  • A single recipient can receive up to 12 remittances in a year

  • The sender is provided with a ten digit “Money Transfer Control Number” (MTCN) which he communicates to the - beneficiary. The beneficiary visits any of the outlets of Western Union like the Branches of State Bank of Indore authorized for payment under WUMT services (as per list-1) with his photo identity (as per list in Serial No. VI below) and the MTCN

  • After verification the rupee equivalent of foreign currency sent is paid to the beneficiary at a rate decided by the Western Union. Payments up to Rs 50,000 may be received in cash and amounts above this would only be paid through transfer to the beneficiary’s Account/Payment Order/DD.

  • No membership or account required

  • No charges for the receiver of  funds

     To replenish money to traveler’s who have lost money

     Parents send money to children traveling or at school

 

IV. SECURITY ASPECTS

The receiver should not disclose MTCN to anyone
